Air Fryer Chicken Strips

These air-fried chicken strips are juicy, tender, crispy, and perfect for an appetizer, quick lunch, or kid-friendly meal. They are served with your favorite honey mustard dipping sauce.
Ingredients:
2-3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 12 ounces total) or pre-cut chicken tenders (12 ounces)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup flour or cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
2 eggs + 1 tablespoon milk
1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs (regular, seasoned, or Panko)

Instructions:
Cut the chicken: If using chicken breasts, cut them into 4-5 strips vertically, each about 1/2 inch wide. You can skip this step if using pre-cut tenders.
Season the chicken: Season the chicken strips with salt and pepper.
Set up the breading station: Prepare three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, place the cornstarch (or flour). In the second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In the third bowl, add the breadcrumbs and Italian seasoning (if using).
Bread the chicken: Dip each chicken strip in the cornstarch, then coat it in the egg mixture. Finally, toss the strip in the breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
Air fry the chicken: Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (199°C). Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray. Arrange the chicken strips in a single layer in the basket, making sure they don’t touch. Spray the tops of the chicken strips with cooking spray.
Cook the chicken: Air fry the chicken strips for 7 minutes. Then, flip them over and cook for an additional 7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy on the outside and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Serve: Enjoy your air-fried chicken strips with your favorite dipping sauce, such as honey mustard.
Tips:
If your air fryer tends to run hot, you may want to reduce the cooking time by a minute or two per side.
You can adjust the amount of spice to your liking.
For extra crispy chicken strips, use Panko breadcrumbs.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer or oven until warmed through.
